PADI Open Water Course

Knowledge Development - Covers Theory

We usually lend a crew pack, containing the diving manual, dive tables log book etc ahead of the course so that you can have a read through it. In class we show some training videos, the instructor then further explains, demonstrates and reviews the information, answering any questions that you might still have. Our experienced instructors will also be able to give you information about different dive destinations and recommended diving equipment.

Skill Development

Skill Development - Confined water Waves

This is where the fun really starts! We go diving in the pool. This is real diving; no fish but easy, warm, controlled, well supervised conditions to make the learning as easy as we can. We start with a gentle introduction to using the gear and swimming around underwater. As your confidence builds we progress through a number of skills to make diving easier and safer and then finish off with what to do in the unlikely event you ever have a problem underwater.

Open Water Dive

Open Water Dive - In the Open Sea

To complete the full PADI Open Water course you need to do 4 Open Water dives with a PADI Instructor. As well as enjoying doing a real dive each of these four dives have specific exercises for you to do. The exercises are basically some of the ones that you have already completed in confined water. Your instructor will help you apply the skills that you have already successfully completed in the pool to the open water environment.
